The New Barnabas Collins in color by AbdonJRomero The New Barnabas Collins in color by AbdonJRomero
Oil/Canvas

I made this inspired by the illustrations of the old monster magazines that were popular in the 70's. The colors in this case gives a dramatic aspect to the character, makes him seem energetic and at the same time, surrounds him in a powerful atmosphere.

I am disappointed that this image did not at least get second or third, I feel it captured the movie and Mr.Collins very well, the colorful background reminds me of something you would see in the bright 70's and the colors you chose do paint his face, it both gives him this dark exterior that is opposite to that of the colorfulness, but also seem to bond very nicely together. I also am very fond of the fact you used Oils for this painting. But all the same, this image is beautiful and you did a marvelous job.
